Brian Wattenbarger
Lead Pastor

Brian Wattenbarger was born and raised in Missouri just north of Kansas City to two wonderful Christian parents. Growing up in a small town along the Missouri River, he spent his time outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing as well as playing sports. He was raised by his parents with Christian values but his church was his home and his environment.
With a diverse experiential background, he began his career life as a carpenter while learning to be a firefighter and paramedic. He quickly learned he preferred emergency street medicine and went to work as a city paramedic in Kansas City, leaving the fire service to work in EMS full time. Brian moonlighted as an instructor in different aspects of fire training and EMT and Paramedic training.
In 1998 Brian moved to Arizona where he continued to work as a paramedic and began taking shifts in the 911 communications center before moving into Communications full time. He was soon promoted to supervisor and director of training.
In 2004 Brian began flying and was soon flight instructing. He became an airline pilot in 2007 and soon rose to the rank of Captain. In 2017 Brian was blessed with the opportunity to teach 5th grade where he was greatly impacted by the children he worked with.
Brian met his wife Tami in 2001. Together they raised three boys, Blake, Brandon and Brett. They are the grandparents of six grandchildren: MaKinley, Caylee, Aubree, MaKenna, Weston, and the newest edition to the family: Brooks!
Brian spent his entire life reading the scriptures but feeling lost in the church. He searched many different variants of the Christian faith but the spirit seemed to drive him from each one, each and every time. He couldn’t get past what he saw as the foretold apostasy rising up in the church. He was disheartened and frustrated. He felt as if he and Tami were going through the motions with church, not really committed, though they were committed to God and Christ.
It took being unable to fly anymore, and being fully immersed in the scripture, as well as a revelation from Tami, before Brian realized what God had been training him up to do. After looking back over all of his experiences and his frustrations, he realized the Spirit was leading him to start a ministry. Brian studied full time, being ordained as a pastor and continuing his studies with the Koi onia Institute while beginning his ministry.
He combines a passion for teaching, a zeal for spiritual growth and learning, and a desire to bring people to Christ’s true teachings as given in the Great Commission. For more on how this is done, please read about who we are here.

Feel free to contact us anytime or come on by. There is no pressure here! No one will make you fill out a card or come to your house or anything. Janna White
Board Treasurer

The three words/phrases to describe Janna would be- adventurous, not afraid to laugh, and passionate about her walk with the Lord.
Janna was raised in rainy Washington State, the oldest of three girls. Her father worked as a carpenter and now spends his retirement building model cars and helping raise his grandson Charlie. Janna’s mom works at a financial institution and enjoys painting. Growing up, learning was Janna’s passion so she became a fifth grade teacher right out of college.
Unfortunately, state budget cuts and teacher layoffs led Janna to Arizona to teach, away from her family and friends. Fortunately, she met and fell in love with John, became renewed in the Christian faith, and her circle of friends grew. Now her family likes escaping the dreary winter and spring months to sunny Arizona.
Janna lives and works in Camp Verde. She has been teaching at the elementary since 2013 and enjoys spending her time playing with her three rescue pups- Duke, Dash, and Daisy. She is also an avid quilter, aspiring kayaker, and creative cook. Her goals include being able to run an entire 5k, learn a new language, and share her love of Jesus with others.
